Definity is the new home for current Travelers Canada personal, business, and specialty insurance customers.  

Definity Financial Corporation is the parent company to some of Canada's most long-standing and innovative property and casualty insurance brands and companies, including Economical Insurance, Sonnet Insurance, Family Insurance Solutions, and Petline Insurance.

Economical Insurance is part of the Definity Financial Corporation family of brands, and one of Canada’s leading property and casualty insurers, with more than 150 years of experience serving individuals, families, and businesses. Over time, our Economical customers will see a transition from our Economical branding to Definity Insurance as we introduce our refreshed look and enhanced experience.

Travelers Canada’s surety business and new home warranties were not acquired by Definity so there is no impact to your policy. Continue to work with Travelers and your broker as you always have.

Over the coming months, impacted Economical Insurance, Travelers, and Dominion policies will be rebranded to Definity Insurance. During the transition, some correspondence and documents you receive regarding your policy or claim may still display the Travelers brand, and some may reference Economical and/or Definity. We appreciate your patience as we move through this transition.

No. Your current policy, deductibles, and premiums are valid and remain the same until your renewal date. You do not need to sign any new paperwork or make any changes.

No. Your broker will remain the same. Continue to count on their knowledge and expertise if you have questions about your policy or coverage needs.

Continue to make premium payments in the same way you do now.

Claims should still be reported through your Travelers’ claims centre at 1-800-661-5522.

If you have an open claim, you will continue to work with your assigned adjuster. All claims will be adjusted by Definity Insurance Company, and correspondence about your claim will come from Definity.
